Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how 531 Social ("531 Social", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our websites, use our applications and services (together, the "Service"), or otherwise interact with us. It also describes the privacy rights available to you and how to exercise them.

The Service includes features powered by artificial intelligence. Section 4 explains how we use AI and what information is involved. If you use the Service through your employer or another organization, administrators of that organization can see certain information about your use of the Service, as described in Sections 5 and 6.

1. Information We Collect From You

Account and Profile Information

  • Name and email address
  • Login credentials, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk); we never see or store your password
  • Job title, company, industry, company website, and LinkedIn profile URL
  • Writing preferences, tone settings, and writing samples you provide
  • Subscription and billing information; payments are processed by our billing providers and we do not store full payment-card numbers

Content You Provide

  • Messages and prompts you send to AI features, and the responses you receive
  • Documents, notes, and other materials you upload or create in the Service
  • Target accounts and business contacts you add to your workspace
  • Drafts and scheduled social posts
  • Waitlist signups and form submissions on our websites

Usage and Device Data

We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages and features you use, the time and date of your visits, unique device identifiers, and diagnostic data.

Cookies, Analytics, and Session Recording

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and understand how the Service is used:

  • Google Tag Manager: manages marketing tags and analytics tracking on our websites.
  • HubSpot: powers forms, customer relationship management, and marketing analytics on our websites, and may place cookies to track your interactions. See HubSpot's Privacy Policy.
  • Clerk: uses cookies to maintain your session and secure your account.
  • Pendo and Wayfound: product analytics in our application, including analysis of your interactions with AI features (see Section 4).
  • Datadog: application performance monitoring and error tracking. A sample of application sessions is replay-recorded to diagnose problems, with on-screen text masked.
  • 531 Social: we set a first-party attribution cookie (utm_attribution) that remembers which marketing campaign brought you to our site so we can attribute signups. It is set by us, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third parties; because it involves no sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, it is not affected by opt-out preference signals.

2. Information We Receive From Other Sources

  • Identity providers: if you sign in using a third-party identity provider, we receive basic profile information from it.
  • Business-data providers: we license firmographic data about companies (such as industry, size, funding, and address) and business-contact information about individuals at those companies (name, job title, business email address, business phone number, and LinkedIn profile URL) from licensed data providers such as Explorium.
  • Public sources: our AI research features retrieve publicly available information from the web to help you research companies and prepare for outreach.

If You Are Not a 531 Social User

Our customers use the Service to research companies and manage business contacts. As a result, we may hold limited business-contact information about you even if you have never used the Service, obtained from licensed data providers, public sources, or our customers. We use this information only to provide the Service to our customers. You may contact us at support@531social.com to access or correct this information, to request its deletion, or to ask that it be excluded from the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including its AI-powered features, and to monitor usage.
  • To manage your account and your registration as a user of the Service.
  • To perform our contract with you, including billing and providing purchased subscriptions.
  • To contact you by email or other equivalent electronic communication.
  • To send you news and offers about our products and services, which you can opt out of at any time.
  • To provide reporting to your organization: if you use the Service under an organization plan, we provide your organization’s administrators with usage, activity, and performance reporting about your use of the Service (see Section 5).
  • To improve the Service, including analyzing usage trends and reviewing AI interactions for quality and safety.
  • To protect the Service, including detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to evaluate or conduct a merger, financing, acquisition, or other business transfer.

4. How We Use Artificial Intelligence

AI is central to the Service: it drafts social content, recommends actions, researches companies, and coaches you through your workflow. This section explains what that means for your data.

AI Providers

We use third-party foundation-model providers to power AI features, currently including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Meta, and Perplexity, accessed directly and through Vercel’s AI Gateway. For reliability, a request may be routed or failed over between providers, and provider models may be served through cloud platforms such as AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex AI. The specific providers may change over time; this section describes the categories of processing rather than any single vendor.

What We Send to AI Providers

  • Your prompts, messages, and recent conversation history
  • Profile context such as your job title, company, tone preferences, and writing samples
  • Information about the accounts and business contacts in your workspace
  • Excerpts of documents relevant to your request

No Training on Your Data

We do not train or fine-tune AI models on your data. Our providers process your content in order to generate responses for you, and we do not enroll in any provider program that would permit your content to be used to train their models.

Human Control

AI in the Service drafts and recommends; it does not act for you without your direction. Content is published to your connected social accounts only when you post it or schedule it, and scheduled posts publish at the time you chose. Our chat and coaching features are powered by artificial intelligence, not by humans.

AI Interaction Analytics

We record your interactions with AI features, including prompts and responses, and share them with our product-analytics providers (Section 6) to monitor quality, safety, and product performance.

Connected AI Applications

If you connect a third-party AI application (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to your 531 Social account, the data you authorize it to access — including business-contact information in your workspace — is shared with that application and governed by its own privacy policy.

5. Automated Features and Profiling

The Service includes the following automated features:

  • Activity reporting: we compute activity metrics from your use of the Service (such as conversations, completed actions, and outreach sequences) and display them, including in comparative team views, to your organization’s administrators.
  • Suggested buying roles: we automatically suggest a likely buying role (such as decision maker or influencer) for business contacts based on their job title and seniority. These suggestions can be reviewed and changed by users.
  • Personalization memory: our AI features build a memory of your working preferences from your interactions to improve future responses.

We do not use automated systems to make decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects, such as decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, or healthcare.

6. How We Share Your Information

Service Providers

We share personal data with service providers that process it on our behalf to run the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication, account management, and billing (payments processed via Stripe)
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Vercel — application hosting and AI request routing (AI Gateway)
  • AI providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Meta, and Perplexity (see Section 4)
  • Explorium — licensed business and contact data
  • Datadog — performance monitoring, error tracking, and sampled session replay
  • Pendo and Wayfound — product analytics, including AI-interaction content
  • LaunchDarkly — feature management
  • Inngest and Upstash — background-job and infrastructure services
  • Google — tag management and analytics on our websites, and waitlist storage
  • HubSpot — customer relationship management and marketing
  • Slack — internal operational alerts (for example, new-signup and subscription notifications that include customer name, email, and plan)
  • Sanity and Logo.dev — website content and company logos; these do not receive personal data

LinkedIn

When you connect your LinkedIn account, we receive your LinkedIn identifier and display name, and we publish the posts you approve using LinkedIn’s official API. We do not read your LinkedIn messages, connections, or feed. Your LinkedIn access token is encrypted at rest, and disconnecting LinkedIn revokes and deletes it. LinkedIn’s handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Your Organization

If you use the Service under an organization plan, your organization’s administrators can see your profile information, your workspace content, and the activity reporting described in Section 5.

Other Sharing

  • Business transfers: in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition.
  • Legal requirements: when required to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose you consent to, including third-party AI applications you connect (Section 4).

7. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your personal data, including encryption of sensitive credentials such as social-account access tokens at rest and restrictions on internal access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data while your account is active. After your account is closed, we retain certain records — such as billing records, security logs, and backup copies — for as long as needed for legitimate business purposes and legal obligations, and we delete or de-identify personal data we no longer need. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time as described in Section 9, and we will honor verified requests within the time required by applicable law, except where we are legally required or permitted to retain specific records.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability — request a copy of your personal data in a portable format.
  • Restriction and objection — request that we restrict, or object to, certain processing of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
  • Marketing opt-out — opt out of marketing communications via the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting us.

To exercise these rights, email support@531social.com from the email address associated with your account, or submit the data-deletion request form at the bottom of this page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will respond to appeals within the period required by applicable law and, if your appeal is denied, we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general or supervisory authority.

10. US State Privacy Rights

Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and Maryland) may have specific rights regarding their personal information, including the rights described in Section 9 and the right to opt out of sales, sharing, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We collect the categories of personal information described in Sections 1 and 2, for the purposes in Section 3, and share them with the recipients in Section 6.

We do not sell personal information for money. Analytics and marketing cookies on our websites may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws; you may opt out of these by emailing support@531social.com and by using cookie controls in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other opt-out preference signals in a frictionless manner. When your browser or extension sends the signal, we automatically treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising: analytics and marketing tags on our websites do not load for your visit, with no account, form, or extra steps required. While the signal is present, the site footer displays a confirmation that your opt-out preference has been honored. To send the signal, use a browser or extension that supports Global Privacy Control (see globalprivacycontrol.org).

11. International Users

531 Social is based in the United States and the Service is hosted there. If you use the Service from outside the US, your personal data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (providing the Service you request), legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service, and business-to-business communications), and consent where required. You have the rights described in Section 9 and may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses with our service providers.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice through the Service or by email.
